ABOUT

Landscapes in Motion started in 2008 as a series of interventions with the last year students of architecture at the Faculty of Architecture in Prague CVUT. The demand was to raise awareness and provide a toolbox on landscape dynamics, as well as the dialogue with the landscape architect. It combined exercises of dance in the milieu to bring the students to a quality of presence in order to experience what surrounded them by the totality of their senses. In the classroom, exercises that emulated landscape evolution via their own actions.

In 2012 in Berlin at K77 was a series of gatherings that explored in a classroom the idea of landscape through a choreographic perspective. Later between 2013 and 2015 at the Centre Chorégraphique National de Montpellier, Landscapes in Motion became a regular workshop with a specific group that questioned the body of the dancer in relation to his/her environment. How do we perceive, from where do we perceive? Are we being perceived?

Between 2015 and 2020 it existed in the form of workshops, performances and happenings indoors and in the great outdoors. Today Landscapes in Motion, LiM, became a metaphysical vast land where several artists and researchers meet to bring forward consciousness, questions, awareness and porosities on how we, as thinking animals, relate to what today still provides us with life.

LiM starts its rhizomes from Lozere, at Cevennes National Park. It lives with the people that dream with it and is sheltered in different places within this land, but not only. It explores these dialogues on broad philosophical, artistic and ecological realms and has the wish to share all of LiM’s research via events, objects, gatherings, and food.
